Stratus Digital is a paid ads and growth agency that helps B2B service and info businesses scale their acquisition across Meta, Google and YouTube. More than 20 clients trust the team to build their funnels and maximize booked calls, with sales teams that run up to 30 closers and setters and several six figures a month in ad spend. Ali Mustafa, its founder, shares how he swapped his old scheduler for iClosed on direct booking, and flipped his cost-per-lead curve right when he was scaling hardest.
“There’s not really anything else on the market with the same functionality. For a direct booking call funnel, it just doesn’t make sense to use anything else.”
The challenge
Before iClosed, Ali ran on a standard scheduler. The problem hit at the worst possible moment. The second he pushed ad spend, his cost per booked call shot up. The more he scaled, the more it cost — and a share of the leads slipped away before they ever reached a call.
The switch
What made him move was mid-application lead capture: grabbing the lead before they even finish booking, instead of letting them drop off. He moved his funnels to direct booking with iClosed.
“The biggest thing that was attractive was the lead capture. Mid-application lead capture. That was the thing that made me gravitate towards it.”
iClosed records the lead the moment they start booking — before they finish — so the people who used to drop off are captured.
The results
The curve flipped. Cost per lead cut in half, at six figures a month in ad spend. Hundreds of booked calls a day, at $30 each. The only new challenge became lead quality and show-up rate — a rich man’s problem when you’re scaling. Bottom line: a lot more profitable.
Beyond a single offer
The switch didn’t stop at one funnel. Ali rolled iClosed out across almost all of his 20+ clients, and uses it internally for his own agency. Day to day, his teams lean on:
The global-data scheduler and conditional logic to route and qualify
Double and triple booking, used heavily to fill closers’ calendars
SMS and email automations, with booked calls dropping straight into Slack
Custom conversions wired through iClosed to track what happens after the call
Why iClosed over the competition
Every other scheduler felt the same — iClosed was the first to do more than just sit there as a calendar. A strong product, and a responsive team.
“I didn’t really have a preference — Calendly, cal.com, GHL, they were all pretty similar.”
“The product is actually very, very strong. The support’s great, the Slack channel and responsiveness are excellent.”
Ali’s advice to other advertisers
Test it, don’t sit on the sidelines. If you’re scaling cold traffic, you need to know this tool.
“It would be very silly of you not to test it and to see what kind of impact it has on your funnel.”
“Anybody actively trying to scale cold funnels that hasn’t tested it, or doesn’t know what it is, they clearly must not know what they’re doing.”
The bottom line
iClosed fixed the exact thing that kills profitability when you scale: the cost that runs away and the leads that vanish before the call. By moving to direct booking with lead capture, Ali did the opposite of everyone else — he brought his cost down while pushing his budget up.
“I really enjoy using the tool. Thanks for building something that’s fun to use and actually helps us.”
